GRADE 3 RHYTHM UNIT
This unit is a series of four lessons teaching a new way of looking at rhythm. They are getting a lot of practice with the new rhythm throughout the four different weeks of lessons. There are also many assessments used throughout to show that they have learned.

This lesson teaches about the music of Scotland by first asking the students what they think of when they think of Scotland, then playing a sample and asking the students if the words they used they heard in the song. It is then followed by giving information on Highland music and Scotland.

GRADE 2 RHYTHM UNIT
This unit begins with the students learning a song using solfege hand-signs. Next they are given rhythm instruments and asked to keep a steady beat while singing. The following week they sing the song again and this time use the rhythm instruments to play a rhythm that goes along with their song. The last week they create their own rhythms!
